ccf 2009 annual appeal
"You need to bring your A-game to every day of your life."
Dear CCF Friends and Families,
Hi, I’m Jackie Tillman, the wife of Charles Tillman, cornerback for the Chicago Bears. I am also a mother to three beautiful children, one of which was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy. I am writing to you today to ask for your support of the Children’s Cardiomyopathy Foundation’s annual appeal, which you will be receiving in the mail soon.
Sports is such an integral part of our lives. Charles and I can’t imagine what is like for kids with cardiomyopathy who can no longer play sports because of their heart condition. It is difficult to see so many children sidelined for life by their physical activity restrictions.
When we were given the devastating news that our daughter Tiana would need a heart transplant because of cardiomyopathy, we knew we were facing our toughest challenge off the field. We were left struggling to find answers and guidance.
Thankfully, we found the Children’s Cardiomyopathy Foundation (CCF). CCF provided us with a wealth of information and reassured us that we weren’t alone. Post transplant, Tiana is doing well, and each day we count our blessings.
Our family supports the important work CCF does, and I hope that you will too. The money raised from this annual appeal helps fund the critical research that can lead to cures. Together, we can all bring our “A-game” to fight this devastating disease. With a dedicated team effort, we can beat the odds and get children with cardiomyopathy off the sidelines and back in the game.
