14th Annual Golf for a Cure Takes Place in Montclair, NJ

The 14th Annual CCF Golf for a Cure, held on July 18, was an outstanding success with nearly 200 attendees and 55 sponsors. Held at the distinguished Montclair Golf Club in Northern New Jersey, the event raised more than $325,000 for pediatric cardiomyopathy research and treatments.

In the evening, golfers enjoyed a lively cocktail hour with a silent auction and jazz provided by Scott Adamchek, a high school student who developed his musical interests after he was diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. During dinner, golf prizes were awarded, and Lindsay Davis, former Miss Ohio spoke about her experience with cardiomyopathy.

CCF Golf Classic 2016 Lindsay Davis was crowned Miss Ohio U.S. International in 2010 and Miss Ohio United States in 2011. She trained as a ballerina until age 17 when she was diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. She made it her mission to raise awareness of cardiomyopathy and in 2013, she helped introduce and pass “Lindsay’s Law”, an Ohio bill that addresses the risk of sudden cardiac arrest among student athletes.

Tournament winners were announced in the evening. The winning foursome were: Dan Anzalone, Rahol Desai, George Jamgochian and Jason Porcelli (first prize); Charles Bartels, Carney Hawks, Adam Trusley and Matt Vodola (second prize); Tim Brennan, John Eckert, Mike Kelly and Justin Palmer (third prize); Kevin Cook, Brendan Dolan, Rick Feinstein and Scott Mallek (fourth prize). The prize for closest to the pin went to Andrew Hain and Mike Triolo, whereas Hank Anderson and Kevin Coleman won the prize for longest drive.
