Put Pediatric Cardiomyopathy on the Map
Raise awareness through our National Heart Month
During National Heart Month, adult heart disease takes center stage. Join us this February in telling America that heart disease affects kids too, often with worse outcomes. Pediatric cardiomyopathy is the number one cause of sudden cardiac arrest and heart transplants in children. In every state, city and neighborhood there is most likely a child with cardiomyopathy — one diagnosed today and one to be diagnosed tomorrow.
Participate in our National Heart Month 50-State Challenge in five easy ways and put a heart on your state in honor of cardiomyopathy heart kids across America.
Send a Valentine
Send adorable CCF valentines to friends, colleagues and your child's classmates. Download CCF's printable valentine cards and give them out with a sweet treat or use them for any heart month event. You can tie it on red balloons for decoration, hand out at an event or sell with goodies as part of a CCF fundraiser!
Share the Facts
Share facts about pediatric cardiomyopathy with everyone you know. New facts will be posted every few days throughout February on CCF's Facebook and Twitter pages. We also will continue featuring our Heart Kids on Facebook. Help us to educate others that behind the beautiful smile of a child with cardiomyopathy, there is a chronic heart condition that has no cure.
Snap a Picture
Whether you’re wearing red for a day, making CCF valentines or having a heart month event, take a picture and share it with others on CCF’s Facebook page with the name of your state. Also participate in CCF’s “See a Heart, Share a Heart” photo project on Instagram. Snap a photo of a heart image you create or see, and post it on Instagram with the hashtag #hearts4heartkids.
Bake a Difference
Hold a "Big Heart" CCF bake sale at a school, sporting, social, work or community event. Call us to register your event, and we'll send you a FREE bake sale kit with red balloons, stickers, posters and handouts to give your event some CCF heart! To start planning, go to CCF's Big Heart Bake Sale page for tips and CCF's Pinterest page for delicious recipes and fabulous decorative ideas. You can also create a "Big Heart" online fundraiser on Facebook so friends and family unable to attend your event can still support your efforts
Lend Your Voice
Make your voice heard and urge your elected senators and representatives to cosponsor the Cardiomyopathy HEARTS Act. The more members of Congress who support the bill, the more attention pediatric cardiomyopathy will receive and the greater chance the first cardiomyopathy bill will be passed into law.
